Femoral Head Transplantation System (FTS)

The Femoral Head Transplantation System (FTS) is a patented system for transplantation of the entire femoral head surface in cases of trauma, avascular necrosis, or osteoarthritis involving the femoral head.  There are limited treatment options currently available for severe injury to the femoral head. These mainly involve attempts at cartilage repair, osteotomies, or hip replacement.  The FTS system is the world’s first system designed specifically for transplantation of a femoral head shell fresh osteochondral allograft, otherwise known as a cartilage transplant.  This technology allows for the restoration of a health bone and cartilage surface in clinical situations where other treatment options are not possible or not recommended such as for patient’s with otherwise healthy joints or for young patients.
